Figuring out which college to attend is a decision that’s not made lightly. At DBG, when our seniors make that big life and academic choice, we all celebrate as a family. Every Wednesday during the month of May ‘Decision Day’ at DBG brings excitement an inspiration as seniors step up, put on the hat of the college they’ve chosen, and take a moment to speak with our younger students about where they’re headed, what they’re pursuing, and why.
This year’s Class of 2025 includes 12 amazing seniors, each with their own hopes and dreams. They’ll be studying everything from business management to biology, engineering, architecture and more at Alabama A&M University, Wayne State, Bowling Green, and other colleges in Michigan and nationwide.
During a recent Decision Day, the room buzzed with excitement and cheers as each student stepped forward, sharing their plans and dreams with their supportive community.
“Every single student in the class got accepted to more than 20 institutions, they’ve earned hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships. They’ve been part of sports, extracurricular activities, and leadership,” said Coach Dennis Williams-Mitchell, DBG’s College & Career Success Manager. “It’s hard to even sum up the magnitude of their accomplishments.”.

Students like Eric Williams, who will major in mechanical engineering and received more than $100,000 in scholarships, credit DBG for helping them stay focused.
“Maintain your grades, it’s most important to succeed,” he shared with DBG’s younger students on Decision Day.
Harmonie Stewart was accepted to 80 colleges and awarded 21 full-ride scholarships. She is pursuing business management at Alabama A&M University with a minor in sports management.
“Don’t push yourself into a box. You are capable of anything,” Harmonie told the crowd. “DBG gave me the support and confidence to to explore all of my options and aim high.”

Markeise Williams is headed to Wayne State University on a full ride scholarship to study psychology.
“Don’t count yourself out too early,” he encouraged his peers. ” “There’s a lot of things you can be better at that you don’t know about yet.”
Coach Dennis calls Decision Day “one of the most important days in DBGs’ timeline.” He describes it as a life-changing decision that goes beyond just picking a school, but choosing a culture, a campus, and a future.
“A lot of our kids are first-generation college students,” he said. “This is history being made.”
Congratulations to the DBG Class of 2025, we are incredibly proud of all of your achievements, and cannot wait to see the impact you make in the world! Your DBG family will be with you every step of the way.
