In conjunction with their partnership to create the film soundtrack Southpaw: Music From and Inspired by the Motion Picture, Shady Records and executive producer Eminem have collaborated with the highly revered boxing brand, TITLE, for a limited edition collection of apparel and accessories.
With TITLE, Shady has created a line of official Southpaw merchandise including boxing-inspired t-shirts, hoodies and authentic boxing gloves. Designs for the gear pull from direct references from both the film (Billy Hope, Wills Gym) and Eminem’s original music contributions to the soundtrack (“Phenomenal”, “Kings Never Die”).
For the limited release, Shady Records has also partnered with label boss Eminem’s Marshall Mathers Foundation and Detroit’s own Downtown Boxing Gym. Downtown focuses on developing their city’s at-risk youth through community service and disciplined academics combined with a character-building boxing program. With their connection to boxing and shared vision for helping youth in Detroit, the MMF couldn’t have found a more fitting partner.
The Southpaw Merchandise look book was shot by photographer Jeremy Deputat on location at Downtown Boxing Gym and features actual graduates from the program.
Additionally, to benefit the Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program, Shady Records, TITLE and MMF are holding an online fundraiser for a select number of the already-sold-out boxing gloves autographed by Eminem. Ten lucky winners will be chosen, in addition to one grand prize winner who will get a handwritten response to a “Stan” fan letter from Eminem himself. Fundraiser starts next week at shadyrecords.com. Sign up for updates.
